 Description of oxidized bitumen 150/5

Oxidized bitumen 150/5 produced in BAKHTAR Bitumen Factory is based on petroleum bitumen which is made by blowing bitumen 60/70 by hot air. This type of bitumen is hard and breakable. Oxidized bitumen 150/5 is the semi-solid oxidized grade of petroleum bitumen categorized in polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons is normally used for different purposes in the construction industries. Bitumen 150/5 must receive double heat temperature (200ᵒ-300ᵒC) against the softening point to make it have flow and viscosity. Normally heating of such hard oxidized bitumen should be arranged via hot oil by circulation inside of the isolated jacket. Bitumen oxide 150/5 from penetration grade bitumen  is blown by hot air in a controlled process until the desired specification is reached. BAKHTAR Bitumen oxidized bitumen 150/5 can be supplied in any grade and are designated by two numbers to indicate the softening point and penetration grades. By oxidized bitumen 150/5, it means the softening point of 150°c and penetration of 15 desi millimeter which is accordance with ASTM standard.

Uses of oxidized bitumen 150/5

Oxidized bitumen 150/5 is applied in the chemical, raw material for bitumen coat, lacquers, varnishes, paper-pulp-board, textile processing, pavement, crack seal and repairmen, civil works, bitumen coat for piping, roofing, construction industries; sealing and insulating buildings, adhesive, construction materials additive, road construction, dust-binding, insulating and impregnating agent, isolation bitumen membrane sheet, make rubber and plastic products. BAKHTAR Bitumen 150/5 bitumen are used for paving, roofing, asphalt-based paints for corrosion protection of metals, in lining public works structures, adhesives in electrical laminates, base for synthetic turf. Also some typical applications of  BAKHTAR Bitumen 150/5 consists of roofing, pipe coating, hydraulic applications,  paint manufacturing and coating in hot regions.

Cautions for Application of oxidized bitumen 150/5

Clean the surface and dry it before applying BAKHTAR Bitumen 150/5 bitumen. Make the surface clean and free of loose particles, dust, curing products, irregularities, and slurries. In case of using BAKHTAR Bitumen 150/50 bitumen on dirty or wet areas the bitumen 150/5 will be easily removed.

Storage and handling of oxidized bitumen 150/5

BAKHTAR Bitumen, Oxidized bitumen 150/5 is valid for the period of 10 years use in the condition of multi-time heat and cold conditions, please refer to MSDS for further information. Storage conditions for bitumen 150/5 is better to be at sheltered areas to be safe from rain and sun shine.

Packing of oxidized bitumen 150/5

BAKHTAR Bitumen is the manufacturer of oxidized bitumen 150/5 in various packing formats. This type of bitumen 150/5 is available in 25 kg meltable, polyamide and craft bag, drum, and bulk. Normally oxidized bitumen is packed on pallets and 40 bags of 25 kg can be stack on each pallet. 20 pallets can be loaded on each the 20 GP container, that is normally 20 tons can be loaded on each 20 GP container. For the sake of higher volume of loading on each container which is normal and safe for bitumen loading and is confirmed by quality issues of BAKHTAR Bitumen Industrial Group.
